Made in Klostermühle at around 1893, this superb Loetz Marmorierte Malachite glass vase, of dimpled ovoid form decorated with gilt enamelled scrolling leaves and trailing flowers, is a truthful example of Loetz's unicity and creativity in the historical Bohemian tradition. Around 1898, Tiffany's global influence and market demand for iridescence glass in Art Nouveau style will, however, change forever the course of this tradition. This vase reflects the pinnacle of Loetz's artistry from 1858, the year of the firm official registration, to 1898.
