A very unusual scent bottle, continental in origin, from c1890. The glass body is beautifully engraved with gilded foliate design. The mount has a nice decoration with black foliate lines on white metal, possibly silver, ground. This embellishment is redolent of the aesthetic movement period (1860-1900), while the glass, overall, reminds of Bohemian craftsmanship. However, we can find this type of design on some of the Murano glass as well. Without a mark, it is difficult to know for sure.
